I'd like to see a combination of stores and residents. Our neighborhood needs greater population density to support more businesses, so storefronts/apts. seem like good use. If buildings need to be torn down, then I'd like to see something similar: homes or restaurants. I don't want to see drugstores,, dollar stores, daycare centers or schools -all these close down at night and will not bring foot traffic to the neighborhood at night when I think the perceived danger is greatest. I have never felt as safe walking on Baltimore Avenue at night the way I do these days thanks to Dock Street and other improvements in the neighborhood which have brought in more people and more people who stroll Baltimore avenue below 52St.

While there are not stores or eateries, I am okay with this. I would just like this strip of baltimore ave. to have the safety factor or perception of increased. I think with that there would be retail to follow. So repair of sidewalks, better lighting, a paint job to the facade is a good start.
