Parks Committee

The Park Committee of Cedar Park Neighbors was formed to facilitate the renovation of Cedar Park in 2003. Since the completion of the renovation in 2007, we continue to:

  • Monitor park infrastructure and maintenance
  •  Beautify the park and maintain garden beds
  • Involve local volunteers in gardening and clean-up work days
  • Plant and care for trees
  • Respond to inquiries about Park use and ideas for improvement
  • Fundraise and seek grants for particular projects and needs
  • Organize annual Spring and Fall Love Your Park Service Days
  • Host educational programs

The Park Committee, on behalf of Cedar Park Neighbors, is officially registered as a Park Friends Group with the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Parks Stewardship Program. Park Committee members attend bi-monthly Park Friends Network Meetings and programs offered for networking and skill building with other Park Friend groups where we are able to access resources and improvement grants.

As a member of the Park Friends Network, we contribute to building a healthy Park system for Philadelphia residents. If you are interested in joining the Park Committee contact CPN at: parks@cedarparkneighbors.org
